Internship Opportunity Available

An exciting full-time internship opportunity has become available at Loud n Proud for a passionate, hard-working and highly driven individual looking to gain key skills and experience in Live Music and the Music Industry.

This placement is Funded by the Big Music Project in partnership with UK Youth. It is an internship for a minimum of three months, with the potential of extension subject to funding and candidate performance. Loud n Proud, UK Youth and the Big Music Project are dedicated to breaking barriers to the creative industries and making it easier for young people to get their foot in the door. This internship is funded to provide employability opportunities aimed at young people aged 18-25, and is open to people from all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from BAME applicants, female-identifying applicants and those from lower income backgrounds. A university degree or formal training is not required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing key support on tasks including:

• Planning and delivering Loud n Proud events
• Communicating with members
• Managing and developing our media presence
• Contributing to the local music network
• Securing new partnerships
• Office administrative duties
• Providing opportunities for young people aged 14-19 to develop skills around the creative industries

Key attributes sought for the Live Music Development Leader include:

• A passion for music with a strong desire to work in the music industry
• A flexible and personable approach
• A motivated team player with initiative to work on individual basis
• Ability to work to deadlines and work over a wide range of projects
• A reliable self-starter with excellent communication skills
• Highly organised and dependable
• Flexible and able to prioritise own workload

Your enthusiasm and willingness to learn is more important to us than paper qualifications. A certificate or degree is not required. We’re not expecting you to be the finished article as training and support will be given.

The internship will be based in Loud n Proud’s studio in Paisley. Occasional travel to events will be required and associated transport, accommodation and subsistence expenses will be covered.
